ONE serves as the Mayor's primary constituent services organization by providing rapid and complete responses to constituent requests, complaints, and questions. This office is a key resource for the community as it supplies a direct link between District residents, their Mayor, and the Government of the District of Columbia.
Our office has at the minimum two Ward Liaisons in every ward to support the needs of our city in a collective effort. The Ward Liaisons work diligently with residents, organizations, and DC Government agencies to ensure that constituent requests are responded to promptly in an effort to meet the Mayor's vision that all communities are safe, clean, healthy and economically-vibrant. In addition, the Ward Liaisons attend as well as participate in community meetings to gain input on issues that impact the quality of life for all District constituents.
Mission
The dual goal of the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Engagement (ONE) is to improve the quality of life for District residents by assisting the District government in providing coordinated and scheduled delivery of high-quality basic services for every resident, visitor and business owner:
Community Relations/Outreach: Promote Mayoral initiatives such as town hall meetings, neighborhood walk thrus, civic association meetings and other external events designed to enhance the Mayor’s presence in the community.
Community Services: Coordinate multi-agency initiatives to meet the demands of District residents by responding to social service needs, managing citywide maintenance projects and addressing additional constituent concerns.
